About the book

Appreciation of Case Histories benefits greatly from reading group discussion. Understanding the complicated webs of characters calling for more concentration than most books receive at a single reading. Several members of the group had read the book twice and after the discussion others felt they wanted to read the book again. Although the episodic start to the book made it difficult to get into and get hooked on, most people found that the sub-plots did draw them along. The theme of loss underlying each case history produced characters all of whom had a degree of sadness in their lives. We left this book with the sense that there was more to be unearthed. Not an easy read, but a good read.
