Little Face by Sophie Hannah

About the book

She’s only been gone two hours. Her husband David was meant to be looking after their two-week-old daughter. But when Alice Fancourt walks into the nursery, her terrifying ordeal begins, for Alice insists the baby in the cot is a stranger she’s never seen before. With an increasingly hostile and menacing David swearing she must either be mad or lying, how can Alice make the police believe her before it’s too late?

Only one of the group enjoyed this book. Unbelievable in parts. Idea was good but badly developed. Confusing characters not likeable and the ending was weak.

  1. Review by Southampton U3A:
The general view was that this novel was difficult to read due to it being written in the first and third person and the story kept switching between time zones. We also felt the story was unbelievable and far fetched. i.e. the characters were not ‘real’ or behaved in a normal way.
