Hunting Unicorns by Bella Pollen

About the book

Maggie is a hard-working and hard-hitting American documentary maker who has just accepted a commission to make a film about the decline of the British aristocracy. This is a witty, sophisticated, romantic comedy full of candid observations on how the other half lives.

Not universally enjoyed! A minority thought it a nice, light read – others gave up before finishing.

  1. Review by New Forest/Waterside U3A
Our group found little to discuss about this novel. Only their commitment and its availability over the snowed-in holiday period induced most to persevere with it. As a critique of the English landed gentry it was neither funny nor sufficiently acerbic to hold attention. Its one saving grace was the shortness of each chapter.
