Get Creative is back and this year it will be taking place from 17 – 25 March. Get Creative is a week full of fun and initiative, encouraging people to try something new whether that be at home or at an event.
Join in the celebrations with us this year – we have lots of exciting events, workshops and courses taking place over Get creative week!

Saturday 17 March
Children’s Science Day at Basingstoke Discovery Centre
Children’s Science Day with the Miniprofessors. Drop-in between 10am and 12noon for some hands-on science with the Miniprofessors. Plus craft, trails and other activities. For children ages 2+.
Container Gardening at Chineham Library
Sally Burr is an experienced speaker on horticultural matters and encourages everyone to have a go at creating seasonal containers. In her demonstration Sally discusses the choice of plants, growing media and containers as well as providing advice on maintenance and after care. Some plants will be available for sale at the end of the presentation. Places are limited so advance booking is essential.

Understanding the latest craze in organisation and creativity – Bullet Journals: Identify how bullet journals allow you to completely customize the style of your planner, make creative spreads, organize your thoughts and ideas and more!

Flowers in Springtime at Fleet Library
Have you ever wondered how to turn a bunch of supermarket flowers into a creative flower arrangement that you can enjoy? Would you like to do more than just put flowers in a vase of water? Here’s your chance! Fleet Library in collaboration with Fleet Flower Club will inspire you by demonstrating 3 different springtime designs using seasonal flowers and foliage and by the end of the evening.

Catkin and Pussywillow at Winchester Discovery Centre
Arrangement in the style of Constance Spry Create a Constance Spry inspired arrangement that has inspired artists and florists throughout time.
Felt bag workshop at Fleet Library
This is a one day creative textiles course that introduces the felt making process and takes participants, step by step through the process of making a felt beg. Each participant will make an original design or decoration for the surface of the bag as part of the felting process, resulting in a unique and personal piece of felt that also has a use! Debi Retallick is a practicing textile artist and has been making felt for around 15 years.
